🚨 Confession: I think working in social media and blogging for seven years has contributed to bouts of perfectionism in my life. My head is filled with what I should be doing to be successful. ⠀

Plan ahead, edit the photo this way, get in the photo, post at this time and use this many hashtags. Don’t use this filter, but make sure you use this tool. Only post about your niche. While these tips are valuable and do help growth, life happens and I get sidetracked.⠀

When I can’t keep up with these strategies, I get down on myself and simply shut down instead of posting content. I think these rules have stunted my creativity. I used to write long blog posts with vulnerable thoughts that resonated with people. Then, life and business got serious. Bills had to be paid and thankfully opportunities were plentiful. Parenting two young kids and running two businesses leaves little time for me to feel inspired to do big things! I’m in a weird season right now where I need to find my creativity again and stop getting stressed over things that are simply silly or out of my control. ⠀

I’m sure posting this selfie is not part of a strategy, but I’m smiling and at the bus stop in my new jacket with my kids. It’s a simple moment in my life where I simply was being and not stressing out. ⠀
