The Love Bug Valentine’s Day Craft is a great activity to make with your little ones. My daughter was able to paint and glue the gems on the love bugs. The rest of the steps I had to help her. That being said, if your child(ren) are older than 4 years old chances are they should be able to do most of the steps with the guidance of an adult.
We decided to make a big Love Bug and a little Love Bug for Valentine’s Day because bugs come in all shapes and sizes!
How to make the Love Bug Valentine’s Day Craft
Craft Supplies
Glue Dots or Glue Stick
Red Hearts (You can use a foam heart already cut out or use red cardstock paper to cut a heart out yourself)
White Buttons/Black Buttons/Red Buttons (Optional)
Permanent black marker
***or you could buy a convenient Valentine’s Day craft bundle***
Craft instructions
Paint craft sticks pink color and allow to dry.
Once dry, Glue googly eyes or buttons towards the top of the stick. Glue the red pom-pom for the nose and draw a smile using a black marker.
Flip your heart upside down and glue to the backside of the craft stick
Cut pipe cleaners into small pieces for the bug’s antenna. Apply to the top of the head on the back of the craft stick.
Last step is to apply the jewels to the heart using glue dots. Tip: Sometimes the gems can be bought with adhesive already attached to it.
When we finished the craft, my daughter took them throughout the house chanting, “Mommy and Daughter Love Bugs!” She thought I was the big bug and she was the small bug. It was really cute.
