Pretzel Rings
The Signature SELECT O Rings are the foundation of this recipe. Not only can you make a snowman, but you can also get creative and make reindeer, Santa’s, and more holiday characters by using different colored candy melts. Also, these pretzel rings make wonderful snacks by themselves. My kids love them!
Wax Paper
I stock up on Signature SELECT Wax paper during the holiday season when our baking season is in full swing. We love to spoil our friends and friends with our dessert creations. The wax paper is microwaveable and non-stick.
How to make Snowman Pretzels
- First, heat candy melts or white chocolate in 30-second increments until smooth. Don’t overcook the mixture or it can turn pasty.
- Tip: Add 1/2 tsp. shortening or coconut oil to candy mixture to liquefy more making it easier to fill rings.
- Place melted candy in a decorating bag and cut the tip with scissors.
- Next, sort pretzels into pairs Cut fruit rolls into small pieces. I folded the fruit roll-ups in half sideways. Place the paired pretzels on top of the fruit as shown.
- Next, using a decorating bag or spoon, place melted candy in between pretzels to secure them together.
- Now, fill in the pretzels with the melted candy. Flatten the candy as much as possible before it hardens.
- Place the black sprinkles to make the snowman have eyes and buttons on the bottom pretzel. Carefully place the orange sprinkle on the snowman’s nose. Tip: Use tweezers to place these edible decor items for a steadier hand.
- Using black icing, draw a smile on the snowman’s face.
- Get creative with your snowmen! Ours came complete with smiles!
- After the snowman is decorated, tie the scarf piece together by twisting the pieces on top of each other. There is no wrong way to design the scarves.
- Finally, place the cookie sheet with the candy pieces into the refrigerator and chill for at least eight minutes or when the candy is hardened.
