You only need a few ingredients and supplies to make this easy dessert recipe:
Equipment and supplies needed
- Cupcake tin or muffin tin
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Large saucepan
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 5 ½ cups mini marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
- 40-60 Cadbury mini eggs or any candy eggs
- 1 (1 oz.) package of edible grass or shredded coconut with green food coloring chopped into about ¾ inch pieces.
How to make Rice Krispie Nests
- Spray a bit of cooking spray on a muffin tin and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the bag of marshmallows and continue stirring until the marshmallows have melted.
- Remove from the heat, pour in cereal, and stir well to coat.
- Press the marshmallow mixture into the cups of the muffin tin, leaving an indention in the center to form nests.
- Allow the Krispie nests to sit for about 20 minutes to set.
- Remove the nests from the pan and add a bit of Easter grass to each one.
- Top the nests with 2-3 mini-Cadbury eggs.
