Valentine’s Day Scattergories
Prep: Download and print the worksheet by subscribing below. Print the worksheet and make copies for every player. Make sure every player has a pen or pencil.
How to play:
- Choose a sheet to begin with and set a timer for a specific duration, such as three minutes. This time limit encourages quick thinking and adds excitement to the game.
- Instruct all players to write down words that fit into the given categories on the sheet. The challenge is to come up with unique words that start with a specific letter.
- Once the time is up, have each player share their answers for each category. To score points, the words must be original and not repeated by other players.
- Give one point for each unique and valid word. If there are any controversial answers, the group can vote on their acceptance.
- Proceed to the next sheet and repeat the process until all sheets have been completed.
- Total up the points at the end of the game to determine the winner. The player with the highest score wins the Valentine’s Day Scattergories game.
Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt Game
Prep: Download and print the worksheet by subscribing below. Give each participant a copy of the printed scavenger hunt list and a pen or pencil.
How to play:
- Hide the items listed on the printable around your house or playing area. Make sure they are not too easy or too difficult to find.
- Instruct the kids to search for the listed items within a specific time limit. They should mark off or check the items on their list as they find them.
- Encourage the participants to work individually or in teams, depending on the number of players and their preferences.
- After the allocated time is up, gather everyone together and compare the found items with the list.
- Award points or prizes based on the number of correctly found items. You can also add bonus points for creativity or speed.
Valentine’s Day Charades
Prep: Print the game on white cardstock paper and cut out 15 charade cards. Fold each one and place it in a bowl. Divide the group into teams of two.
How to play:
- Divide the kids into two teams. If there are only a few children, they can play individually or as one team.
- Choose a player from the first team to start the game. This player will act out a clue without speaking or using props.
- The player can choose a clue from the Valentine’s Day charades cards or come up with their own Valentine’s Day-related word or phrase.
- Set a time limit for the player to act out the clue, usually around one minute.
- While the player is acting out the clue, the rest of their team members try to guess what it is. They can shout out their guesses or write them down.
- If the team guesses the clue correctly within the time limit, they earn a point. If they don’t guess it, the other team has a chance to steal by guessing the clue correctly.
- Repeat the process with players from the second team taking turns to act out clues.
- Continue playing, alternating between teams, until all the Valentine’s Day charade clues have been used or until a predetermined number of rounds.
- Keep track of the points earned by each team. The team with the highest score at the end of the game wins.
