North Texas Jellystone Park was just what our family needed to get away for a few days. With the grandparents in tow, we discovered that North Texas Jellystone Park was the perfect place to break our non-travel streak. Keep reading to find out all the fun things you can do at this attraction and sneak a peek inside one of Jellystone Park’s cabins.
Although the site offers tent camping, we opted for a cabin stay because it’s hot right now and my baby needs to stay cool. Plus, sleeping in a bed isn’t such a bad idea.
What to expect during your North Texas Jellystone Park stay
Located in Burleson, TX, right outside the Dallas/Fort Worth area, North Texas Jellystone Park™ mixes traditional camping with glamping. Meaning everyone can enjoy traditional camping activities such as making S’mores, fishing, hiking, stargazing, etc while resorting back to comfortable and upscale cabins. We rented a golf cart to explore the grounds because the property is so large.
If you are new to camping in general, this family-friendly vacation spot is the perfect way to get introduced and addicted to this newfound pastime. (Hint: They have a fabulous gift shop and are located within miles of civilization if you forget anything).
A plethora of activity
There’s not a shortage of fun activities at the park. Guests can participate in everything or pick and choose what fun they want to get into. In between planned programs, there are simple games like Cornhole, Jenga, and horseshoes.
Everything at the resort is well thought out and scheduled. If you are a family on the go that doesn’t want to keep up with paper schedules, then the text alerts are perfect! Throughout the weekend, reminders were sent to my phone via text with plenty of time to get to the assigned activity (thanks to our golf cart rental).
Since we have a baby, a preschooler, and a teenager, my husband and I split up during some activities. He took my daughter to the waterpark while I stayed at the cabin for baby nap time, a photo session, and shopping at the gift shop. Note that the Pirates Cove water park was only open that Saturday for campers since the swim season is winding down. Many activities are included with the camper’s stay; however, some activities require extra payment.
We also stayed behind to cook dinner while my husband took our oldest to hunt zombies! From arts and crafts to swimming to laser tag, there are so many different things to do for kids of all ages. There’s so much to do that a second trip or staying more than 2 nights would make sense.
Lodging options
Guests can stay under the stars, claim an RV site, rent an RV or stay in a cabin. We stayed in an upscale Ulrich 2 Bedroom Cabin.
This luxury cabin had plenty of space for all of us to sleep comfortably. There is one Queen Bed in each bedroom and 3 Queen mattresses in the loft area.

Opportunity to unplug
As a business owner, I’m always connected to my phone and the internet. The resort has WiFi options but the connection was not strong where we were. Although some would see that as a negative, it was a blessing to us because it forced us to disconnect and spend quality time together – unplugged.
With the technology gone, we were able to focus on quality family time. We rode a fire truck, jumped on bounce houses, and explored the campsite. We cooked S’mores, played games, and did all the things that make camping so much fun.
Plenty of photo opportunities
One piece of technology we did not get rid of was taking fun photos including a few selfies with Yogi Bear! Can you find all the fun Yogi Bear photo spots? Did you spot some in my video above?

Conclusion
No matter if you are an expert camper or rookie camper, this park offers something for everyone. Tent camping, cabin camping, or RV is available to fit those needs. I felt like I was back at Summer Camp and I loved every second of it. It’s a great way to introduce your children to nature in an innovative and fun manner. We hope to go back soon when my toddler is a little bit older.
