Last year I rounded up 20 North Texas moms to head to the Bad Moms Christmas movie screening on a Monday night. Did I mention it was the day before Halloween?
We must be Bad Moms!
In all seriousness, we needed a night out to see the Bad Moms sequel. With the demands of being a mom, a Bad Moms Christmas Night Out was the perfect way to laugh, cry and have a few drinks. We had so much fun that today I am sharing how you can host the ‘baddest’ Bad Moms Christmas night out ever! And, I mean BAD in a GOOD way!
It’s been a week since our night out and we are still laughing and reminiscing.
Plan The Best Bad Moms Christmas Night Out Ever With These Tips!
Plan to see the movie
About A Bad Moms Christmas
The film follows three under-appreciated and over-burdened women as they rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. And if creating a more perfect holiday for their families wasn’t hard enough, they have to do all of that while hosting and entertaining their own mothers. By the end of the journey, the moms will redefine how to make the holidays special for all and discover a closer relationship with their mothers.
I found myself laughing a lot more during this movie than the first. On the flip side, I also found myself crying like a little baby thinking about the relationship I have with my own mom when it comes to the holidays. Although holidays can be stressful, they can also be special.
Wear festive attire to the showing
Give me an excuse to dress up for a theme and I am there. Forget the fact that Halloween was the next day, our group of ladies showed up and did not disappoint with their festive holiday attire. I found these fun Christmas earrings and had a custom shirt made with a fun holiday saying.
Consider Holiday pajamas too! I saw several Bad Moms dressed in onesies at the film.
Invite the baddest moms you know
Apparently there are a ton of ‘bad moms’ that love the movie and want a night out. Within days we gathered a good group of ladies. Don’t worry if you go to the movie with one friend or twenty. You will have a blast either way!
Since we had so many friends on board, we decided to make a night out of it and rent a party bus. Safety first moms! I can’t remember the last time I have been in a party bus, but it was a fantastic decision because we did not have to worry about driving and our driver from Dallas Party Ride was fantastic. Prior to the trip, we created a Facebook group so we could communicate what all everyone was bringing so we wouldn’t have 20 cheese trays! We had a fun music playlist to keep the ride fun. I will say that the dancing was more exciting on the drive back than it was on the drive there… but what happens in the party bus stays in the party bus! You understand!
Play holiday games
If you are able to do so, plan a few holiday games before or after the movie! If you have extra time, consider watching the first Bad Moms to get familiar with the story again. You can watch the sequel without watching the first, but it makes it better if you have time to watch the first. There are a few throwback moments.
Make or order Bad Moms photo props.
Don’t forget these name tags.
Add holiday decor such as Santa, reindeer and snow! The Target dollar spot always has cute things to use.
Host a contest to see who can wrap a gift the fastest. Bonus points if it’s nicely wrapped. Please note that I would definitely not win this game, but it’s fun to watch!

Cue the main attraction
A Bad Moms Christmas would not be complete without watching this hilarious comedy! Bonus points if you can find a movie theatre that serves food, drinks and has comfy chairs. I was worried since I don’t get much sleep these days that I might have fallen asleep in a comfortable and dark theatre, but it was quite the opposite. I couldn’t stop laughing and I was engaged during the entire film. At one point, the movie ended and I thought, “Wow, that was quick!”
Make a pit stop at the grocery store
As our night closed, a few of us decided we weren’t quite ready for our night of fun to end. We made one more stop to our local grocery store before heading home. Don’t worry we behaved and even the employees had a good time helping us take photos to pay our respects to the original Bad Moms film. If you remember, they had quite the fun at their grocery store. I am happy to report that I have visited this grocery store since and didn’t get kicked out!
Bad Moms Christmas is Now Availabe on Blu-ray
Don’t miss your chance to have a night out with your favorite ladies. It’s important to take time for yourself. Raising humans can be tough! What better way to celebrate the sisterhood of mothers than going to see A Bad Moms Christmas. Plus, let’s not forget Justin Hartley and Jay Hernandez are in this film.
Kick off the holiday season with your friends and/or your own mom with this hysterical comedy!
