Valentine Crack is the holiday treat you didn’t know you needed! It’s similar to the ever so popular Christmas Crack. Made with saltine crackers, a hot toffee mixture and sprinkles, this delicious Valentine’s Day treat will you have you addicted at first bite.
This Valentine’s Day dessert is the perfect dish to bring to a Valentine’s Day Party. It’s one of my kids’ favorite valentine’s day treats. No one can resist crack candy! That’s why they call it that name. It’s addictive!

What do you need to make Valentine’s Crack?
You only need a few ingredients and supplies to make this easy dessert.
Valentine Crack recipe
- Prep/Assembly time: 10 minutes
- Bake time: 10 minutes
- Total time: 20 minutes
- Yields: 40 if cut down to the size of the crackers
Equipment needed
- Medium sauce pan
- 1 small microwave safe bowl
- Parchment paper
- baking sheet
- Spoon
- Nonstick spray
- Piping bag
Ingredients
- 40-50 Saltine crackers
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 cups white chocolate chips or candy melts
- ¼ cup red or pink chocolate melts
- 1 teaspoon shortening or coconut oil (if needed)
- Valentine’s Day sprinkles
How to make Valentine’s Crack
- Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line the cookie pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange the saltine crackers on the pan so that they lay down, making sure the sides touch.
- Add the brown sugar and butter to a medium saucepan. Cook on medium heat until the butter is melted, stirring continuously.
- Pour the butter mixture over the crackers, use a spoon to spread it evenly on top of all of the crackers.
- Bake the crackers for 7 minutes. Once done, remove from oven.
- Melt the white chocolate in the microwave, in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, 30 seconds and stir.
- Spread the white chocolate onto the top of the toffee, and use a spoon to spread it around until the toffee is fully covered.
- Place the red or pink chocolate melts into a piping bag and place in the microwave.
- Microwave for 30 seconds, then knead the bag, then microwave another 20-30 seconds, and knead the bag again until fully melted. If the chocolate doesn’t melt smoothly, add a teaspoon of shortening or coconut oil and knead it in until well combined. Cut off the tip of the bag and drizzle on top of the white chocolate.
- Scatter the sprinkles on top of the chocolates while the chocolate is still melted.
- Once the chocolate is fully set, you can either break the toffee up with your hands, or cut into squares.

Store in an airtight container or wrap in plastic wrap This Valentine’s Day treat will stay fresh for 1-2 days allowing you to make them in advance.
Recipe Variations
There are some different ways to alter this recipe:
- Candy melts – Use a variety of colors! Consider adding red candy melts to the toppings!
- Use graham crackers instead of saltine crackers.
- Add crushed candy canes to the toppings to add a peppermint flavor.
- Use almond bark instead of candy melts.
