Disclaimer: Disney/Marvel sent me to Los Angeles on an all-expenses paid press trip, in exchange for my coverage of these events, which included attending the Thor Ragnarok Premiere. All opinions are my own.
The Thor Ragnarok Premiere was everything you could imagine: amazing. surreal, intoxicating and most importantly fun! I am still pinching myself.
I would be lying if I told you I hadn’t been dreaming of this moment since I started covering Disney news on the blog a few years back. When I received a pixie dust email inviting me on a Thor Ragnarok press trip I was giddy with excitement.
The Thor Ragnarok premiere was unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life. You can watch red carpet events on television, but it’s nothing like physically being there. Keep reading for an insider look of my Thor Ragnarok premiere moment.
My Whirlwind Thor Ragnarok Premiere Experience
Being that it was my first Red Carpet premiere experience, I did not know what to expect. Thanks to the help of countless friends including bloggers who had attended them before I was ready to rock the red carpet. It had been months since I had gotten dressed up for anything thanks to having a baby.
The Red Carpet Look
I rented a red Rachel Zoe Rouge Suzette Dress. I never wear red anything including red lipstick, but I figured it was time to step outside my comfort zone. Beige comfortable wedge shoes and a small purse made the look complete. My sweet friend brought over all her fabulous makeup to make me look red carpet ready. With my nails and hair done I was surprised what a little time and effort can do. Did I mention I hardly have time at home to put mascara on?
Walking the red carpet
This red carpet was divided into many sections. One area was for non-celebrities like myself while the other was the main red carpet for the stars. I could also see various media outlets waiting to interview everyone. It was a lot going on in a very short time.
Trying to be present and in the moment was challenging with ushers telling us to “move along” every minute. We did move, but very slowly. I had to get a few glimpses of the movie stars. Here is who I saw.
Tom Hiddleston – Loki
Winston Duke – Black Panther
Karl Urban – Skurge
There were plenty of star sightings that I could not get photos of due to the madness and hustle of it all. Thankfully, the press has several photos I can share with you!
Everyone looked amazing and beautiful! I remember being blown away by how beautiful and elegant Cate Blanchett looked. Jeff Goldblum’s mannerism is everything you would expect from him. Mark Ruffalo brought his family along and they were adorable.
Even Thor’s costume from the movie attended the Red Carpet. Look at the attention to detail.
Closer to the main event
It was time for the Thor Ragnarok Premiere to begin, but first our phone had to be locked up! Talk about a blogger’s nightmare, but thankfully we all survived. There was plenty of surprises and entertainment once inside.
Had someone told me before hand we would be placed in the front row I would have called them a liar. But, we were placed front and center. I happened to look behind me and saw Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth a few rows back. Eek!
With my popcorn and drink in my hand, I was ready for the movie to start. All of a sudden Jeff Goldblum’s voice announces all the movie stars, producers and the Director.
Could this night get any better? I could see them all and my smile never faded!
Can you spot me? I am in the lady in red in the front row!
Upon existing the stage, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo walked in front of our row, shook hands and smiled at us! I regret that I did not place my hand out as my fellow friends got to touch them! I blame it on shock! However, Mark Ruffalo briefly stopped in front of me and smiled his pearly whites my way. That’s good enough for me!
The movie started with catchy music. Every time a new actor appeared on the big screen cheers irrupted amongst the crowd. This was everyone’s first time to see the film including the cast and crew.
I wonder what it was like for them to see their hard work come to life on the big screen.
A full movie review is coming soon, but for now know that it’s a movie the entire family can enjoy. Thor’s moment to shine and make us laugh happens in Thor Ragnarok.
With the movie closing, it was time to go back to the hotel. On the way out, I bumped into Miley Cyrus. Our elbows touched.
That’s a wrap
With my fellow mom bloggers we posed for one last photo opportunity on the Oscar stairs before heading back to our hotel.
This blogging journey has brought me some incredible highs.
With every moment in life I learn something new. If you want something bad enough work hard for it. Put it out there to the universe that this is what you desire. Wait patiently (it took me a few years for an invite). Believe in yourself. Celebrate success, stay humble and be grateful. I will never take this experience for granted.
As a re-enter reality, I look forward to watching Thor Ragnarok again (this time with my husband) for a second night filled with laughter and smiles. I encourage you to buy your tickets now!
