This plastic shoe organizer is the perfect road trip hack
Use a shoe organizer to keep all your items including snacks, activities, and safety items in one convenient location.
What items should you bring for road trips?
An organizer
I made an over-the-seat organizer using a plastic shoe organizer I wasn’t using anymore. I cut the bottom of it to make it fit and attached it to the seat. The clear pockets make it easy to see everything that is stored for quick and easy access.
Packable snacks
I realize that some parents don’t like their kids eating in the car at all, so this may not work for your family. Although I allow snacking in the car, I do try to make sure the snacks we bring are no mess.
Kids activities
If your kids don’t get car sick, load up the car with fun and interactive books. My daughter loves to color so washable crayons and activity books are a must for any road trip. If your kids are older, consider crossword puzzles and connect the dots. Bring a good book or our free printable Road Trip Workbook or Road Trip Bingo.
Cleaning supplies
Hand sanitizer, tissue paper, baby wipes, and trash bags.
Baby Essentials
Have a baby on board? Normally these items are in a diaper bag, but if you are looking for quick access consider packing these items in your organizer: Diapers, wipes, pacifier, diaper rash cream, etc. You can never have enough of these supplies.
