How to make a rain cloud in a jar
Making rain clouds in a mason jar is simple and easy!
Supplies needed to make a rain cloud in a jar:
- A mason jar
- White shaving cream
- Blue food coloring
- Pipette
Instructions for the rain cloud science experiment
(Adult supervision recommended)
First, fill a mason jar with water.
Next, spray shaving cream on top of the water.
Using a pipette, squirt the food coloring throughout the shaving cream and watch the magic happen! The food coloring will slowly drip towards the bottom of the jar, creating a mixture that looks like rain!
Consider using various food colors and encourage your child to identify each color as it falls from the cloud. Kids can identify the various colors to take the lesson one step further.
