Thank you Revision Skincare for the complimentary products and a lunch and learn event to educate our readers on practical ways to prevent aging skin.
Aging Skin is a reality as much as we don’t want to believe it. Throw in parenthood and stress and it seems like aging skin appears out of nowhere.
Or at least for myself it did.. bags under my eyes, blemishes and zits popping up like I was a teenager again. All thanks to lack of sleep and my minimal efforts to maintain a healthy skin care regimen.
In the early days of parenthood, any amount of shut-eye, big or small, trumped a thorough skin care routine. Fast forward almost three years later and I really can not use the lack of sleep as an excuse anymore.
Now that Reese is a preschooler, I have more time now to take care of myself. Sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder what the heck happened to my face – it looks so tired and then I see my neck. It looks fine right now, but I am going to have to start giving it the attention it deserves.
Have you seen what a neck looks like that has been neglected for years?
It ain’t pretty folks! Not to mention there is a new neck problem called tech neck that is caused by looking down at our devices frequently.
The good news is that there are ways we can prevent aging skin that aren’t too expensive and doesn’t require a ton of effort, time and energy.
This is great news for women like myself who can hardly find 10 minutes alone to think in silence. (Yes, I sometimes sit in my car an extra 5 minutes in the parking lot before picking up my daughter from school… Don’t judge!)
I recently attended a lunch and learn event hosted by Revision Skincare and The Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics where I discovered simple ways to slow down the aging process that I am proud to share with you below.
Ways you can prevent aging skin now
Use Sunscreen Always and Forever
Sunscreen is now your new BFF. Apply sunscreen daily and reapply throughout the day. I admit, I forget to reapply most days. Sunscreen is the #1 way to reduce aging hands down. The higher the SPF the better, especially if you have fair skin. Don’t be fooled if you think you are protected by being indoors all day near a window or driving in your car. The sun can still find you. Have you seen the skin damage the sun caused to these truck drivers? Sorry if that link grossed you out, I had to get my point across.

Consistency is Key
Don’t expect to see massive results and skin improvement overnight. It takes time and consistency. Stick with your skin care regime and over time you will see a difference in your skin care given you use the right products… which brings me to the next way to prevent aging skin.
Use quality skin care products
Intellishade fights the signs of aging including fine lines, wrinkles and photo damage while giving skin a healthy sheer mineral tint.
Visit a dermatologist on a regular basis
The same time you book your gynecologist appointment consider doing the same with your dermatologist and while you are there consider purchasing the premium grade skin care products. The Revision Skincare line is sold exclusively through medical offices. It is important of purchasing skin care products from a dermatologist or skin care professional. The convenience of an online purchase can be tempting. However, with certain brands, you don’t always know if what you are buying is the real thing. (There are some scary counterfeit products out there! Do your homework.)
