Cute Pool Party Jello Shots Recipe
Make these fun Summer jello shots in minutes!
- Prep time: 10 minutes
- Yields: 12 – 15 jello shots
What do you need to make jello shots?
You only need a few ingredients and supplies to make vodka jello shots.
Equipment and supplies needed
- Medium mixing bowl or measuring bowl with a spout for pouring
- Spoon
- 1 or 2 oz disposable cups (I used 2-ounce plastic cups as my Jello shot cups)
Ingredients
- 3 ounces blue colored gelatin (blue raspberry jello mix works best)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup of vodka (alcoholic) OR cold water (nonalcoholic)
- Peach ring gummies or gummy candy
- Gummy bears or teddy grahams
What’s the best vodka for jello shots?
When it comes to choosing the best vodka for jello shots, it largely depends on personal preference and the flavor profile you want to achieve.
While you don’t necessarily need to splurge on a top-shelf vodka, using a mid-range or premium brand will generally provide a smoother and more enjoyable taste.
Popular vodka brands that are often used for jello shots include Absolut, Smirnoff, Grey Goose, and Ketel One. However, feel free to explore different brands and flavors to find the one that suits your taste best.
Remember, the vodka you choose will influence the overall taste of your jello shots, so it’s worth experimenting with different brands to find your favorite.
How to make these Jello shots
- Set out your cups.
- Mix together the gelatin and boiling water until the gelatin has been absorbed. Then, mix in the vodka or cold water.
- Pour into the disposable cups and allow to set up in the fridge (about 3-4 hours)
- Just before serving, place a gummy bear in the opening of the peach gummy ring, and place in the center of the set Jello. If your bears are tall, you can cut the bottoms off of the bears to allow the peach rings to sit on the Jello.
- Enjoy and get ready for a good time!
Notes
- Keep refrigerated until ready to serve, and keep cool while serving. Jello can be made several days in advance, but refrain from topping with gummies or teddy grahams, or the gummies will get soggy.
How to store
Store in the refrigerator for up to a week in an airtight container or put plastic wrap over the bowl. If it separates, use a spoon and mix it together again.
Recipe Variations
Use malibu rum instead of vodka for a sweeter flavor.
