Spider Cookie Ingredients & Supplies
You only need a few simple ingredients and supplies to make these Halloween cookies. It’s definitely an easy recipe to make for your Halloween parties:
- 72 stick pretzels – for the spider legs
- 12 Oreo cookies (optional: Halloween Oreos)
- 24 Candy eyeballs
- Black cookie icing, chocolate frosting, or candy melts – to secure the candy eyes on top of the cookies.
- Parchment paper
How to make easy spider cookies
- First, divide the cookie sandwich in half and place them on a single layer on top of parchment paper, wax paper or on top of a baking sheet.
- Try to get more icing on one half of a cookie piece so the pretzel sticks stick inside the icing well.
- Place three pretzel sticks on each side of the Oreos.
- Next, place the other cookie on top making it a sandwich with the pretzel sticks secured in place.
- Apply a small amount of black cookie icing on each candy eyeball and place two eye candies on the Oreo. The spider eyes are adorable!
- Finally, allow the cookie icing to dry.
- Enjoy! Store the Oreo cookie spiders in an airtight container or serve right away at room temperature.
Recipe Notes
- Replace the regular Oreos with Halloween Oreos that have an orange color to them inside.
- Real spiders have eight legs, but I have found it’s easier to place six pretzel sticks than eight. It can look crowded with eight pretzel sticks in each cookie sandwich.
- Replace pretzels with black licorice legs or pocky sticks.
- Use melted chocolate in a piping bag to draw mouths on the little guys or secure the candy eyes.
- Add candy corn for the spider’s nose.
