One of the easiest Summer time treats to make is the no bake strawberry shortcake dessert. It doesn’t require baking or mixing a list full of ingredients and it has Cool Whip in it. Seriously, I could eat Cool Whip by the spoonful if I let myself. It’s so addicting! I remember going to my grandma’s house and she would let me eat it straight from the bowl! She was brave for letting us kids do that with all the sugar we ended up having in our system!
Normally, I buy the angel food cups and top it with strawberries and Cool Whip. On this afternoon, I saw an empty wine glass that needed to be filled with something and since it was early in the day to start drinking (or is it? ha) I decided to fill it with no bake strawberry shortcake dessert!
This no bake strawberry shortcake dessert glass would be great to make for a summer party. Simply fill glasses or even shot glasses with this classic dessert recipe! You could make Strawberry Shortcake Shooters or buy plastic clear cups for the kiddos so they don’t break! Also, if you choose to serve this treat pool-side you may want to go plastic too. The options are endless.
Mini No Bake Strawberry Shortcake Dessert Recipe
- To make this treat, simply gather strawberries, blueberries, Cool Whip and angel food cake or dessert shells. (The angel food cake can usually be found in the bread and muffin section of your favorite grocery store).
- Cut the angel food cake into squares, slice the strawberries and put the Cool Whip into a zip-loc bag.
- Cut a corner of the bottom of the zip-loc bag and squeeze all the whip cream to that corner so you can easily squeeze it throughout the glass in a neat manner.
- Drop all the ingredients throughout the glass into different layers and make it your own creation. It doesn’t have to be perfect looking because the outcome is delicious no matter what!
- Enjoy with a spoon!
Shout out to my stepson who helped me take this photo since it was so hot outside and the whip cream was literally melting in seconds. Thanks to my husband who quickly kidnapped the treat and enjoyed it as it melted in his mouth. I only got one bite!
Oh well, guess I will have to make some more but that is okay because it was so easy!
Moms always get the last bite, huh?
