Thank you Next Step Dance Performing Arts Center for sponsoring today’s post! All opinions are my own.
We finally stepped out and signed up my daughter for dance classes at Next Step Dance Performing Arts Center. I secretly was excited to get her started in dance. Growing up I participated in tap/ballet/jazz and have fond memories of many dance recitals. When my daughter pranced off to her new dance class with a smile on her face, I was happy for her. She is always dancing around the house, so to see her dancing with others and learning new dance steps was a great sight to see.
She LOVED the first class and begged me to come back the next day. I explained to her it was a weekly and she finally got it. I was thrilled she wanted to come back. Three weeks later, her eyes light up at the mention of dance class. Nothing is worst than dragging your kids to activities that they dread.
There are plenty of options when it came to time and skill set. We found a class during the week that worked with my schedule. Upon walking in, you can see the pride and passion that the owners have in their business. The owners, Rita Allen and Michelle Stafford, opened the studio in 2008. Trophies line the walls and believe it or not they have a few in storage.
Speaking of being proud, parents can watch their child dance their hearts out in the lobby. They have flat screen televisions that broadcast the classes live.
The studio offers a multitude of classes in different dance styles, including jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, and contemporary. Kids from ages 2 and older can register for classes. If you aren’t sure if your child will enjoy the class, simply mention MODERN MOM LIFE for a complimentary class. The Dance Fall Schedule has plenty of options for scheduling and interests.
Conveniently located in Frisco Square, there are several kid-friendly and fun places to visit after your class. We love to go to the water fountain or the library afterwards. However, they are moving to The Star in the Spring of 2017. Exciting news and a good sign that they are growing in the right direction.
Overall the weekly one-hour Tap, Ballet and Tumbling class provides quality instruction that is fun for all ages. Not to mention it provide a one hour break for mommy (They have free wi-fi too)! I can take a breather to relax or talk to other moms. I also enjoy watching her dance. You can’t help but smile when you see the little ones in their adorable costumes. It’s so stinking cute! As she grows we may commit to more classes a week, but for now it is perfect for our family.
As she grows there are many other options and areas of dance she can explore. I look forward to seeing where this dance takes us! If you have a child that you think would enjoy Next Step Dance Performing Arts Center, I encourage you to try it out. You won’t be disappointed!
