Since becoming a parent I have learned many things about myself: some good, some bad.
One thing is for sure: I have never been a morning person. No matter how much I try to be one, I simply can’t stand mornings. I am more of a night owl.
Pre-kids that type of attitude was tolerated.
With kids, they don’t care if you are a morning person or not. They wake up early.
Mornings can make or break your day. Start it off right, the day seems to be more productive. With a positive attitude comes a brighter day. On mornings I am disorganized, tired, and not prepared my entire day seems to be off. I am a hot mess momma!
Thanks to coffee and learning a few morning hacks, getting up at the crack of dawn isn’t so miserable. I look forward to my cup of joe to jump-start my day. The first sip is always my favorite!
5 Morning Hacks to Make Your Day Bright
Pick out everyone’s outfits the night before and lay it out somewhere easy to find.
Make a list of items you need to get together now instead of minutes before leaving the house. I take a shower the night before so I have one less thing to worry about in the mornings.
Make breakfast casseroles on Sunday to reheat throughout the week and serve.
Work smarter, not harder
Smart products help make our lives easier so why not use them?
Invest in a coffee maker that has a timer. That way you can load the coffee the night before and wake up to freshly brewed Westrock coffee.
Avoid the Snooze Button
Pushing the snooze button is very tempting. Just 10 more minutes… Don’t fall for this trap. Before you know it 4o minutes have passed and you are rushing to get out of the door looking like a hot mess.
Set a space for designated items
Designate an area where the car keys, backpacks, and shoes can be stored. Make it part of everyone’s daily routine to pick up and drop off these items in this spot. This eliminates the stress of locating these items in little time.
Turn technology off
Enjoy your breakfast, sip on your coffee all without the distractions of technology. Talk about a time sucker! Don’t waste your morning time scrolling for minutes on end on your phone. Save your morning to enjoy your coffee and connect with family. This is a great time to talk about the day ahead with your children.
