Thank you Downtown McKinney for sponsoring today’s post about Home for the Holidays: A McKinney Christmas.
Imagine: You just finished Thanksgiving dinner and you are heading to your couch to relax after stuffing your face.
That’s when the Historic Downtown McKinney elves start setting up for Home for the Holidays A McKinney Christmas. Along with vendors, they work well past midnight away from their own families to make sure everything is perfect our families to enjoy.
Thanksgiving weekend marks the 37th year for this hometown Christmas celebration. Bring your family to the 14-block area of McKinney’s 165-year-old commercial historic downtown for family activities, food and entertainment. It’s a fantastic way to jump start to the holiday season. Not to mention this event is FREE to attend and by shopping in Downtown McKinney your dollars are going to support local businesses.
5 Reasons to Attend Home For The Holidays: A McKinney Christmas
A spectacular tree lighting ceremony
On Friday, November 24, watch faces light up at 6:15 p.m. when the city lights a 34-foot Blue Spruce Christmas tree that will adorn the city’s square. The tree is funded by First United Bank, Texas Oncology and the contributions from families and businesses during the McKinney Christmas Tree – A Gift to the Community fundraising campaign. The first 100 donors who contribute a minimum of $50 will receive a commemorative keepsake ornament.
The tree will serve as a beautiful backdrop for holiday photos and be a sight for the entire family to enjoy. Following the tree lighting, visitors can enjoy live entertainment by Emerald City Band.
Experience exceptional stage entertainment for free
