Our family recently spent a day at Hawaiian Falls to celebrate my son’s birthday! We hosted his birthday party there and invited some of our friends to join the fun. Keep reading to find out why we chose Hawaiian Falls as a birthday destination and all the fun attractions our guests enjoyed throughout the day.
Where is Hawaiian Falls The Colony?
Hawaiian Falls – The Colony is located 1/2 mile north of Highway 121 and Plano Parkway intersection at 4400 Paige rd, The Colony, Texas 75056.

This waterpark offers a good variety and mix of thrilling rides to relaxing swimming areas for everyone to enjoy! Whether you are looking for an adrenaline rush or an afternoon to bask in the sun, this park has it all!
Kona Kooler Lazy River
Kona Kooler is a continuous river perfect for guests to explore the park and relax in inner tubes. Start here to get a tour of the entire park.
Water slides
Hawaiian Falls offers a variety of aquatic rides including these water slides:
- Bonsai Pipeline – three twisting, turning, inner-tube slides for one or two riders from the 45-foot tall Aloha Tower.
- Waikiki Wipeout & The Flyin’ Hawaiian – Climb the 65-foot tall Aloha Tower and ride through the tunnel and over the edge on the Waikiki Wipeout or fly down the twisting waves of the Flyin’ Hawaiian.
- Pineapple Plunge – Thrill-seekers beware! The launch is sudden. The acceleration is intense.
- Hawaiian Halfpipe – A two-person over-the-edge inner-tube ride that propels riders straight up then backward over a 40-foot drop.
- Tiki Tower – Twist and turn all the way down!
Oahu Bay Wave pool
The family wave pool is one of our favorite spots to visit. The gentle waves make this a great spot for younger children to enjoy. There is a 25’ LED screen that plays music and movies throughout the day!
Keiki Kove
Keiki Kove is a massive interactive water rain fortress has pulleys, rope ladders, a giant bucket of water, geysers, three 40-foot slides, and a 1,000-gallon dumping bucket. Perfect for ages 12 and under.
Kahuna Beach
Kahuna Beach is the newest attraction and the perfect spot to cool down while lounging in the shade while the kids climb across the ropes or play water basketball.

Luxury Cabanas
Looking for more privacy for your group? Consider renting your own private cabana that’s complete with private wait service and a customized food & beverage menu and so much more. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Book a cabana now. * Admission tickets and Passes are NOT included in Cabana rental reservation and must be purchased separately.
There are three different type of cabanas for rent at Hawaiian Falls:
- Island Bungalows – Choose from two bungalows that overlook the Kona Kooler Lazy River.
- Elite Cabanas – Choose from four Elite Cabanas that are located on Adventure Reef Island overlooking the Kona Kooler Lazy River.
- Private cabanas – 24 private cabanas are located at Oahu Bay Wave Pool, on Adventure Reef Island next to Keiki Kove, North Shore, and Kahuna Beach.
Birthday parties and special events
This North Texas waterpark is a great option to host a celebration with small or large groups. Packages start with a minimum of 8 guests and must be booked at least 7 days in advance. Party Packages are booked in 2.5-hour increments (11 am – 1:30 pm or 3 pm – 5:30 pm) Our party group had reserved seating in the Luau Point next to other groups. There are four different birthday packages depending on your group size. Packages include admission tickets, large pizzas, drinks, cupcakes, and party favors such as towels and sunglasses. The party favors were a huge hit!
With the help of our party attendants, we never had to leave the picnic areas. They brought the pizza, cupcakes, and refreshments to us.
Although the party pavilion time is limited, party guests can stay and play at the water park all day long. We moved to our private cabana near Keiki Kove. Learn more about birthday and celebration packages here.
Dining Options
There are plenty of dining options once you are inside Hawaiian Falls. Tiki Snacks and Bar offers quick bites, frozen cocktails, refreshments, and more!
Grab a quick bite at Sharkey’s to enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, and dessert items such as the ever-so-popular Dole Whips. And yes, they taste like the real deal. Tropical snow cones and ice cream are available at stand-alone vendors.
Pro tips for the best visit
- Bring plenty of sunscreen for the entire family. If you forget to bring it, there is a gift shop inside that sells sunscreen.
- Wear water shoes – some of the sidewalks are hot.
- Wear a hat
- Rent a locker to protect your personal items.

The waterpark is open from May 21 – September 18, 2022. Hawaiian Falls in The Colony’s operating hours vary depending on the day you visit the waterpark. Open daily starting May 25, 2022, and back to weekends only starting August 8 – September 11, 2022.
How do guests buy tickets?
Guests can purchase season tickets or daily tickets here. Group tickets are available here. Get one FREE admission ticket for every 15 tickets purchased.
Do I need to purchase tickets for children 2 and under?

Hawaiian Falls does not allow alcohol, glass, or sharp knives. Any size cooler and/or bag containing food or drinks will be charged a $15 fee and will be searched upon entry. Yes, Hawaiian Falls offers life jackets for kids of all ages including infants.

Hawaiian Falls waterpark offers a clean environment filled with water rides, tasty food, and non-stop family entertainment. The Hawaiian-themed setting sets the tone from the minute guests arrive. Our entire day was one I will never forget. I am glad we picked Hawaiian Falls to host my son’s birthday. All the party guests raved about the fun they had including a visit from Mr. Pineapple. My kids were tired and happy at the end of the day which is a sure sign of a good time.
