Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday (March 2nd) by hosting a Dr. Seuss party! To save you time, I have searched high and low to bring you the best Dr. Suess food and craft ideas that are simple and fun to make. Get the kids involved and read your favorite Dr. Seuss books. I made these Cat in the Hat Fruit Kabobs with my daughter years ago and she requests them year-after-year!
Why celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday?
According to holidaycalender.com, the holiday is held annually on March 2nd, Dr. Seuss Day is a holiday that celebrates the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel – aka Dr. Seuss. During the 1990s, the National Education Association advocated for a day to celebrate reading all over the United States. In 1998, it started Read Across America and decided to hold it on the same day as Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
Celebrate Dr. Seuss all year round
It doesn’t have to be his birthday to celebrate all things, Seuss! Keep the fun going by reading a book to your kids and taking it one step further with these Dr. Seuss activities. It will provide hands-on learning and memories that will last a lifetime. Not to mention, a few of these projects are super tasty and delicious! (Case in point: Cat in the Hat cupcakes!) Another idea is to make a Dr. Seuss craft for your teacher, local librarian or anyone who loves reading! There is no shame is immersing yourself in the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss. I personally refer to Dr. Suess quotes quite often as they provide wisdom and motivation in my own personal life.
