Fall is upon us which means pumpkins, gourdes, and fall decor are all the rage. We carve pumpkins every year, which we will do again, but I wanted to try another pumpkin craft that I saw on Pinterest. There are so many different craft ideas that you can make with the faux pumpkins. They were recently on sale for half off at Michaels. If you are looking for an easy fall craft that looks vintage, look no further and let’s make DIY Faux Vintage Pumpkins!

DIY Faux Vintage Pumpkins Materials
Faux Craft Pumpkins
Foam Paintbrushes
Acrylic Paints (two colors):
DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint, 2-Ounce, Slate Grey
Craft Smart Acrylic Paint, Sage Green

Step One

I applied the Sage Green paint color first. I let it dry first before applying the Slate Grey color.
Step Two

It’s as easy as that! Experiment with different colors to see what you come up with. It’s nearly impossible to mess this craft up. When it looks messed up, I just say it’s “vintage” and then people think it’s supposed to look that way! If you want to give your pumpkins a glossy look, simply spray them with a Krylon Colormaster Crystal Clear Gloss Spray.
Place them indoors or outdoors, but beware of toddlers because they do love to throw them! Great entertainment for sure and they did stand up after all the abuse. Sounds like a win to me!
Besides being cute they make great toddler toys! Winning craft Mom!! I think this is something I can totally do. I even have the paint right now 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
