This easy-to-make dirt cake recipe is tastier than it sounds. Not to mention, my love for Oreo desserts runs deep. Oreos don’t last long in this household.
This dessert is a family favorite and is made with Oreos, vanilla pudding, cool whip, and more to satisfy your sweet tooth. Everyone in my family devours it. We love to layer this recipe and store it in a trifle bowl but others make dirt cake cups to serve people individually or in a baking glass pan.
Oreo Dirt Cake recipe
Enjoy this no-bake dessert with gummy worms for added fun! Make it a trifle bowl for many layers or a clear glass baking pan for a one-layer look.
What are the ingredients needed to make dirt cake?
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 (4 oz.) INSTANT vanilla pudding
- 3 cups of whole milk
- 16 oz cool whip
- 23 Oreo cookies, crushed
- gummy worms
How to crush your Oreos
We used a handheld food chopper, but food processors work well and save you time. You want the cookies to be a little chunky and not too little.
How to make a layered dirt cake
Mix powdered sugar and cream cheese in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Add pudding and milk.
Fold in whipped topping.
Sprinkle a third of the crushed cookies on the bottom of the trifle bowl.
Top with the mixed whipped mixture.
Layer twice with Oreos on top.
Chill for 5 hours or overnight.
Place silk flowers and/or gummy worms on top.
How long does dirt cake last in the fridge?
Dirt cake should be stored with Saran Wrap or a covering. It can last for about 3-4 days after if you have leftovers.
