Why You Will Love This Festive Halloween Treat
Whether you love or hate candy corn, you will love these candy corn treats. These fun treats include gooey marshmallows but no actual candy corn pieces (unless you want to add them for added flavor). No cookie cutter is required when it comes to making candy corn Krispie treats.
Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

Serves: 8
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. Butter
- 6 cups mini marshmallows – use fresh marshmallow
- 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
- 1-2 tsp. orange food coloring
- 1-2 tsp. yellow food coloring
Supplies
- Springform Pan
- Large saucepan
- Orange and Black Straws (optional)
- medium mixing bowl
- Cooking spray
- Large bowl
- Parchment paper or wax paper
- spatula
- Large knife
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt butter.
- Once melted, stir in marshmallows, and cook over medium-low heat, until the marshmallows are melted.
- Next, remove from the heat and stir in rice krispies cereal, mixing with a greased spatula until well combined. It will be a sticky mess and that is okay!
- Place half of the melted marshmallows/cereal mixture into a large bowl.
- Add yellow gel coloring, and use a cake spatula to fold the color into the mixture. This will take a few minutes to get the color distributed evenly.
- Spray your springform pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- Spoon the yellow rice krispie treat mixture around the outside edge of your pan to make a yellow ring.
- Use a piece of parchment paper over your and press the mixture evenly around the edge of the pan, creating about a 1 ½ by 1-inch high border.
- Take the remaining mixture and divide it in half again.
- To one-half of the mixture, add the orange gel coloring. Use the same method to fold the color into the mixture until well distributed.
- Spoon the orange mixture around the edge of the yellow, and use the parchment paper and your hand to press the mixture into an orange circle, about 1 ½ x 1 inch high.
- Take the remaining krispie mixture and press it into the middle, filling the rest of the space. If you have too much mixture left you can discard (or eat) any remaining mixture you don’t use.
- Allow the mixture to sit in the springform pan to cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into triangles.
- Then remove the outer rim and move it to a cutting board.
- Use a large knife to cut the mixture into 8 triangles similar to a candy corn shape. Cut the whole thing in half, then in half again, then each piece in half again.
- Add straws for easy handling, if desired. Serve at room temperature.
Note: These treats are best enjoyed the same day they are made. Store in an airtight container for up to two days.
These treats can be frozen if desired. Place them between layers of parchment paper or plastic wrap in a freezer-safe bag or container. Keep them in the freezer for 3-6 months. Thaw before enjoying.
