In celebration of Disney’s new release of Alice Through the Looking Glass, we decided to make an Alice in Wonderland craft that was fun and easy to create. l think our flowers came out nicely, don’t you? Granted one of them looks like a fish and not a rose, but we can use our imagination, right?
Alice in Wonderland Craft Supplies for the Flowers
Pipe Cleaners or Popscicle Sticks for the stem (I had heart paper straws left over from Valentine’s Day and I thought it suited the Queen of Heart aspect of the movie so I used them instead.)
Cardstock Paper in various colors
Pen or Pencil
Alice in Wonderland Craft Instructions
Step one: Draw various flower shapes including tulips, roses, and daisies. If you aren’t confident in your drawing skills, consider printing a flower template and tracing them onto the paper.
Step two: Cut out flowers.
Step three: Fold them in half long ways and cut a straight line where you would like the mouth to be.
Step four: Watch below or read detailed instructions to learn how to fold the mouth piece.
Step five: Cut a black piece of paper that is big enough to cover the mouth opening and tape/glue it on the back side of the flower. Glue or tape the straw.
Step six: Flip back over and glue the eyes above the mouth. Most likely if your child is like mine, they may want to glue the eyes wherever. Just let them because it’s Alice in Wonderland and we all know it wouldn’t be a stretch to see a funky looking flower in Wonderland. Plus, it gives your child ownership of his or her project.
Repeat the steps with all your flowers and enjoy! You now have a fun garden of flowers inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
