Make Edible Ice Cream Bowls in these easy steps
Edible Ice Cream Bowl Ingredients & Supplies
- Ice Cream (any flavor)
- Chocolate Flavored Candy Coating
- Sprinkles
- Balloons
- Cookie sheet
- Parchment paper
How to make edible bowls
Blow up balloon to the size of the bowl you would like to make. Make sure your balloon can fit in the bowl that you will later melt your chocolate candy coating into.
Next melt chocolate coating in the microwave according to the package. To give you an idea on how many blocks to use, I used three of the chocolate portions to make at 4 bowls as shown below.
Place sprinkles in a wide bowl and set aside.
Once the candy coating is melted dip the top of the balloon into the mix covering it in it’s entirety to mimic a bowl. (See video above). Be careful not to push the balloon to deep into the chocolate if it’s hot because it will pop the balloon. Then, you will have an explosion of chocolate in your kitchen. Doesn’t sound that bad though, right? (Believe me, it happened to us!)
Next, dip the chocolate balloon into the bowl with the sprinkles and cover it the same way.
Set aside and place on cookie sheet like pictured.
Place cookie sheet with chocolate covered balloons in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. This will allow the chocolate to harden with the sprinkles.
Once time passes, bring bowls out and scoop ice cream in the bowls to serve with sprinkles on top! Add cherries, whip cream, and nuts if you like! It’s your treat to customize as you wish.
Consider making these sprinkle ice cream bowls for your next party, a prize for your kids or just because! They are definite conversation starters!
