Thank you Dallas Hilton Anatole for hosting us at your hotel! All opinions are my own.
It’s been forever and a day since my husband and I had a night out, much less a moment to grab lunch together just the two of us. Since I got pregnant, our nights have consisted of falling asleep early while watching television on our couch. Some nights it’s him going to bed, while I stay up late writing. Sure, it’s okay to do so once in a while, but when it starts happening frequently I believe it’s not healthy.
Thanks to Dallas Hilton Anatole and my parents who babysat for us, we were able to get away for the day/night and remember what’s it like to have fun with just the two of us.
We visited the resort on a beautiful Spring day where the sun was shining, the flowers were blossoming and we were able to enjoy exploring the outdoor grounds. We discovered several statues, art pieces, and historic landmarks on our walk to the V Spa.
Who has the bigger tummy at the Dallas Hilton Anatole?
Speaking of relaxing, we spoiled ourselves with a couple’s massage at the intimate and chic V-Spa that is located in the Dallas Hilton Anatole. Dressed in our fancy bath robes, we took a moment to sit back, exhale and enjoy being spoiled. Any mom guilt I had left at that very moment. I kept thinking to myself, why did I wait so long to do this? This is glorious!
After our afternoon at the spa, we spent time getting dressed up and ready sans the interruptions of kids! We almost didn’t recognize each other! Our room was comfortable, chic and fit in well with the hotel’s style.
We took our fancy selves to SER Steak + Spirits for dinner. Right off the bat, the restaurant’s scenery and Dallas skyline views blew us away! I had never seen anything like it. We were like two kids in a candy shop in awe.
Our server was incredibly knowledgable about the menu while the bartender graciously surprised me with “mocktails” complimenting every course of our meal. Oh, how I have missed my cocktails and wine (thanks pregnancy!), but these treats tasted as great as the real thing minus the hangover! My favorite drink included blueberries and watermelon foam. They sure do know how to please a pregnant woman. Chad sipped on an Old Fashioned made with Texas bourbon from the Garrison Brothers distillery.
Course-after-course exceeded our expectations. Chad and I have been to several steakhouses and SER Steak + Spirits has been the best hands down. The crab cakes were my favorite. I enjoyed the Filet Mignon and the savory sides.
The Millionaire Pie, also featured on The Food Network, is a must have. Warning: It is a big slice of pie and by that point we were so full that we did not finish it, but we sure wanted too! Made with ice cream, raspberry sorbet and whip cream, this dessert is mandatory.
Did you know the the Dallas Hilton Anatole houses an extensive collection of art and antiques – the largest ever assembled in an American hotel.
After our delicious dinner date, we toured the hotel with our full tummies and ran across rich pieces of history including two 12-foot Segments of the Berlin Wall painted by Jurgen Grosse (Germany, 1990). Simply looking at it is powerful in itself. It stands for so much.
We concluded our day listening to live music by the fireplace! It was the perfect ending to a great day.
It may take effort up front to plan a getaway with your man, but it’s so important. Time flies by and before you know it the kids are grown, and it will just be you and your spouse. Keep your relationship strong and that love alive!
There’s no need to plan a long, expensive and extravagant trips away to spend quality time together.
Consider taking a trip to the Dallas Anatole Hilton for your next date night getaway or with your family when Jadewaters opens on Memorial Day!
